my machine cover

I decided to take up the challenge over at Jennies Blog http://elefantz.blogspot.com/2009/08/little-green-visitor-sneak-peek-and.html
to make a sewing machine cover you need to make a cover in august to be in the draw for a prize:}
so today I had some time and had a play around with some chenille and a vintage doily
I have added a pocket to the front and one on the side to keep the foot and book in
I think I need to play around with the fit a bit more But I am happy with how it looks

crochet update

Hi just doing a little update on how I am going with my blanket it is growing slowly but I am happy with it so far

Not a lot of sewing has been going on at my house lately but I do hope to change that soon Jenny

I have seen some beautiful yarn goodies on some blogs and because I have wanted to learn to crochet for a long time I decided to give it a go and here is the start of my big blanket. I am going to just do it in different coloured stripes and see how it goes what do you think ??

new quilt

here is my new quilt
I was lucky to get a beautiful charm pack from Fiona in the recent swap I was in
this is what I am doing with it I had some blue linen [it is not sooooo blue in real life]that I got from a thrift store I think I payed 5o cents for it I wanted something to put on the back of the lounge so I out this together
I am happy with it now I just need to get some backing fabric and quilt it

I have not been doing much in the sewing room lately but hope to get back into it soon
