hey there, I came across your blog because I searched google for "HG palmer princess"- I have one as well! I am interested to read that yours (which looks the same as mine except for the colour) is 45-48 years old! that means it was from the early 60s, pretty cool. I expected it was pretty old, but not this old!
I haven't used mine yet, or tried to, but I'm hoping to be able to get it to work soon. It was my grandma's so it is also sentimental, as well as a cool looking machine!
Were you able to find out any info about this type of sewing machine? I'm not sure how I'm going to go about threading it, I am not an experienced sewer!
Cheers :)
Hello
I too have a machine exactly like this. If it is of any help, I found this link to a PDF machine manual http://www.dolfmeister.com/files/rudolfcouture/princess_instructions01.pdf
Hope this helps
Jenny
I have just found a blue version discarded for hard rubbish collection! It works... but the threading will be an interesting exploration. I had a look at the link above, but that looks like it is for a slightly younger machine with more modern threading etc... I am going to get my Mum to have a look at it, as she is an old sewer with a memory for an old machine! But I am interested to know if you have found out anything else about this model?
Cheers,
Kirsten.
hullo,i just bought mine on ebay, it came with "those other" instructions which are for a newer model, please let me know if any one ever found out how to thread the little sweetie, mines blue too. cheers..
Today a Princess followed me home from the Opshop. A woman came in and asked about donating sewing machines and then brought it in. I couldn't help myself.
It's an electric blue, but otherwise exactly like yours.
And I second checking Rudolf's site for info. He recently supplied me with a power cord for my 60yo singer.
Hi! I just got one of these and it took me ages to find out how to thread it! It is actually a Japan-made class 15 sewing machine, and a chick on you tube has a great video on how to thread them-her website/videos are at stagecoach sewing.com (I found it via YouTube). She refers to it as japane-made (typo?) Now onto figuring out how to wind a bobbin!
