I just had to show you all the beautiful gift I got from Carole in Chookys SSCS
I love it and the chocolate was a big hit I did get some and have 2 stashed for myself LOL

I have managed to get myself a summer cold so I feel rather yucky and it is still raining here .Still we are not yet as wet as some.I hope it clears soon .

been busy

Hi all sorry I have not been around much I have been doing a little craft but nothing I can show till after Christmas .

Today the mail came and Look at what I now have Carole from

customs had a little look inside but everything was all safe and sound when I opened it .

I just love my tree decoration Caroles Hubby Stephen turned it for me I will treasure it always it was snug in some red fabric and there is a chocky as well

I will be good and save my main gift for Christmas so it is now under the tree

so thank you Carol for being my Santa and chooky for organising this swap again

In the garden

Hubby and I were looking around the garden today between showers and this little fellow was flying around the flowers he was sooo fat and cute I just had to get a pic I took a heap but this is the only one he would sit still for

we had a party

Last week our eldest son turned 21 so we had a small party on the weekend his sister came up from Melbourne with her boyfriend and we had family and friends from away here it was a fantastic night this is our little family together again after 2 years fantastic

I have been playing

I have been playing when I should have been doing housework

NOOOOOOOO

As some of you know I have a short arm quilting machine and it has been giving me problems well today it was working so I took the chance to get a quilt quilted I was almost done when I smelt something strange and then I new what I was smelling was smoke NOOOOOO the motor has burnt out BOO HOO Hubby is going to have a look online later and see if we can get another one but for now I am sad this machine has been a problem ever since I got it but we are not wealthy and this was all I could afford so I hope it can be fixed wish me luck I am going to go find some chocolate now and sulk hugs Beth

Treasure hunting

on Friday I popped into one of our local opp shop's and found some treasure
don't you just love Black work .There were a lot of different stitched things and one amazing black work sampler in a nice frame I looked wanted it sooo much but did not have the cash on me so I walked away for the rest of the day I thought about that sampler and decided to go back on sat morning to see if it was still there
you guessed it the shop was closed oh well come on Monday I got down there as soon as I could and was amazed to fine it still sitting in the same spot it is now on my wall and I love it

see the little girl in the pic well that is my mum and she made me the beautiful table mat I feel so lucky to have found her she is my birth mum and my life is fuller from having found her

I have loaded a quilt and hope to get it quilted this week have had more problems with this machine but I am not giving up on it yet I need to think about how to quilt this one not sure if I want to do a panto or some freehand I will keep you all posted

Well I have gotten around to sewing this block together
so now there are 2 done .I hope to get some more stitchery done this month to catch up to the other girls doing this quilt
it has been a quiet weekend for us just staying at home and sewing doing housework and listening to all the revelers at our Local [ worlds greatest pub crawl] event
some of the costumes were amazing and some were a little small for such cool weather

first block done

I have been stitching today and finished my first block for my Gardeners journal quilt I am so happy with it so far

my top is done

I have been busy with life lately so I have not done as much sewing as I would like. So today I decided to get the housework done early and then spend some time in the sewing room and here is what I did my top is now done. I am so happy with how it has turned out so far But now I need to think about what colour cotton to quilt it in any suggestions ????

well I am starting to feel a bit better. So I have been trying to get this quilt together

I was lucky and had my DH cut a template from polycarbonate it made the cutting sooo easy
I hope to get it sewn together this week .
looks like a mess of fabric but then yay It is starting to look like it should

sorry I have not been around much I had a overnight stay in hospital last Monday night and a small op
nothing serious but quiet pain full so I am feeling sore and sorry this week and things are going very slowly
I made a start on my new project last weekend but have just not felt like doing much more on it yet I hope to get back to it soon.

It has been raining here almost not stop for over a week now and things are looking good but getting very soggy

next in line

Hi all sorry I have not been on here much have been having some phisio on my back I fell down the back steps about 8 months ago and have never felt better so went and had it looked at I have done the ligaments in my left hip grr so I need to have a brace on and do some special exercises hope it gets better very soon
ok here is the next project in line I had picked other fabrics but they were just not doing it for me so I went and shopped the stash and this is the new fabric I am going to use I am much happier with this choice
